Patchworks releases more feature updates
August 03
As a company, we’re constantly striving to improve our product offering for you, and the last couple of months has been no exception.
Here’s a little bit about our latest releases…
Webhook support for process flow triggers
Our latest update meant that retailers can now use webhooks to trigger process flows whenever a given event occurs in a third-party application. When you choose to add a webhook to a process flow trigger shape, a Patchworks webhook URL with built-in authentication is auto-generated. This URL must be added to the third-party application, so it knows where to send event data.Changed your mind? No problem
We’ve now added a stop button to the process flow actions bar meaning if you need to, you can stop a process flow as it’s running, which will stop it as soon as possible. However, this will depend on what the flow is doing - it may not stop immediately. For example, if a custom script is running or an API request has already been made, these will need to finish before the process flow stops - so it’s important to check any target connections to clarify what (if any) updates have been made after a process flow has been stopped.
View multiple payloads
If you’re running multiple payloads during the process, you can now access ALL payloads that are generated for a given shape.
Route labels
The route shape has been updated so that now any user-defined route labels are displayed on the process flow canvas. More information is available in our product documentation.
New pre-request and post-request script feature
Here’s the biggie! The new pre-request and post-request script feature means that we can now essentially connect to anything! Custom scripts can now be applied before and after authentication requests, which means we can customise, manipulate, and automate requests and responses in highly customised ways. Consequently, non-standard API connections will never be an issue again… Pre-request scripts allow you to modify authentication request parameters before sending the actual request. You can set dynamic values, compute signatures, or add headers based on specific conditions.
Post-request scripts are useful for manipulating authentication response data before displaying or using it. You can extract specific values, format data, or even perform calculations. This helps in preparing the response data for further requests or for displaying in a more user-friendly manner.
Combine these with scripts that can be applied at any point during a process flow (via the script shape), and the power is huge!
And for our new connectors…
Peoplevox and Emarsys are our first connectors to utilise new pre-request script and post-request script functionality!
